About
About the journal
Field notes from Space Radar, the free, open-source 3D map of everything in orbit: satellites, stations, planets and stars. Every story ends on the map, so you can go and look.
The Space Radar journal is where the project explains itself in long form: what is up there, how we know, and how the map is made. Every story ends on the map, with a link that opens the thing it describes in 3D.
How the stories are written
Facts carry their sources at the foot of the page. Where a number is worked out here from sourced figures, the story says so. Dates are shown on every story, and a story that is changed later shows when.
The map
Space Radar is a free, open-source, live 3D map of everything in orbit: satellites, stations, debris, rockets, planets and stars, each drawn where its published orbit puts it. Open the 3D map, or read the source on GitHub.
For readers that are machines
Every story is plain HTML with no script needed, and also available as Markdown at its address with .md added. /llms.txt lists them all, /llms-full.txt holds the full text, and the feeds are RSS, Atom and JSON Feed. Search and AI crawlers are welcome.
